Our aim
In our corporate worship in Glenabbey, we are seeking
to paint a compelling picture of the glory of God in Christ. The songs we sing, the readings we include, the prayers we pray, the multimedia content we incorporate are all used to this end to reorient us with the supreme worth of our God and to remind us that our Creator is more precious than any of the gifts he has given in creation.

As a result of people grasping more of who God is, we pray that we may respond together in heartfelt thanks and worship of God and encouragement of one another that spills out of our meetings into everyday life.
We also pray that these truths of God, as they are declared and celebrated in our worshipping community, will communicate the living hope and challenge of the gospel those unbelievers who are attending our services.

What this website offers
As our tag line says, this site is a resource portal to inform, equip and inspire you for worship service in Glenabbey and beyond. To that end, we offer a very wide array of training resources. This video will give you a feel for the range of materials you'll find in this site.
Getting Involved

We are always looking for suitably skilled musicians and singers who are willing to serve in the Music Ministry. Although there may not be a position for you when you make yourself known, it's always good to have a team of suitable people to call on as and when positions open up.
Underpinning musical ability, we place a very high value on the character and integrity of those who serve. We are looking for people who love God, who are committed to his glory, who have a servant heart and are willing to serve in whatever context is appropriate in the Ministry, and who can work as part of a team to lead and serve others in the church. Training and support

The making of music is often a collaborative endeavour and our musicians naturally group together in bands and teams which provide a network of support and accountability.
But in addition to this informal support, we provide training resources for our musicians, primarily through this website. Our
Training and Study section provides a very wide ranging of resources, from the deeply theological to the eminently practical. Find out more about the nature of the God we worship that inspires our adoration and awe. Widen and deepen your grasp of that fundamental biblical concept of worship. Be trained and equipped in the practicalities of leading corporate worship and of developing your musicianship.
Alongside the Training and Study section, the
Blog provides a more ad hoc context for the sharing of thoughts that can help develop your understanding of leading worship. From the big picture ideas such as how our church services relate to our surrounding culture, to detailed practical issues including how we might improve our leading of public prayer, the blog is a very useful place to stop by for anyone involved with – or who has an interest in – corporate worship.
From time to time, we have specific training events which build on the foundation laid by the
Encounter course.
