Meet Bob #4 - Right Relationships Meet Bob 3 - Maintaining Healthy Tensions Meet Bob part 1 |
What is my job in church? Am I a worship leader? Or perhaps a lead worshipper? Do I lead praise? Am I the music guy? Do I simpy do the warm up for the main act? What am I aiming for as I lead people in singing to God?
How do I judge 'success'? Is it by how many comments we receive after we've led? Is it by the number of hands raised as we sing? Is it by the enthusiasm of the clapping during our opening song?
If we are to lead well and to be faithful stewards of the opportunities God has given us as we lead, then these are important issues. In this short video, Bob Kauflin introduces us to his definition of what it is worship leaders should be aiming to do as we lead others to worship God.
If this definition has whetted your appetite, check out Bod's book, Worship Matters, where he spends eleven chapters unpacking the various elements of the definition. Saturated with scripture and informed by years of practical experience, this is probably the best material I have read on the subject of what exactly is our task as worship leaders.
