Worship and the word - confusing reality with truth
A talk on Acts 8:4-24 and John 4 by Gilbert Lennox. In this talk, Gilbert asks us to consider why the Samaritans were so readily taken in by the signs and wonders of Simon the magician. He warns us about seeking after experience rather than truth and takes us into John 4 to help us understand the paramount importance of knowing the God whom we worship. He discusses Jesus' important comments on worship, that the Jews worship what they do know while the Samaritans worship what they do not know. True worship has God as its object, and we must strive to grasp what God has revealed about himself if we are to worship him acceptably. A fascinating angle on this vital issue.

Living sacrifices, acceptable to God
Al Hamill does a teaching on acceptable worship from Romans 12.

The idols you’ll find in Belfast
In this talk, based on the account of Paul's visit to Athens from Acts 17, Gilbert Lennox invites us to consider how the things we truly worship are revealed through the the idols we serve in our culture. He challenges us to be more than tourists in our culture, merely unquestioningly enjoying the things around us, just like everyone else. Rather, he asks if we, like Paul, are angered by the neglect of the one true God evidenced in the things our culture worships. At the same time, Gilbert warns against the retreat mentality that says, 'There's bad stuff out there, I'm going to huddle in here, with people just like me, where it's nice and safe!' Rather, he calls us to follow Paul's example to be in the world but not of it, and shows how Paul so expertly communicated the Good News message of the gospel in a way that was accessible to the culture, but not conformed to it. A challenging and thought provoking talk.

Worship and the glory of God
We know that the word 'glory' is tied in somehow with the concept of worship. But how exactly? Is it just another one of those religious sounding cliches that we use unthinkingly? What is God's glory? If he has glory, what does it mean for us to 'give him glory'? In this talk, Lucas Parks takes us on a tour of the concept of God's glory revealed in the book of Romans as he gives an answer to the question 'What is worship'. What is God's glory? How have we failed to live up to this glory? What are the implications of this for us? How are we to live lives that reflect something of the glory of God? All these issues and more are addressed in this masterful overview of this important topic.
